This guide shows you how to set up a Spotlight campaign in Pulse to put custom messages on your Electronic Shelf Labels (ESLs). With Pulse, you can add a Spotlight to any product you have added to a Campaign. You can also measure the performance of you Spotlight campaigns to see the effect adding a promotional message to your labels has had on your sales!
How to set up a Spotlight campaign
Before applying Spotlight messaging to your labels, first you'll need to set up a Campaign. You can log in to Pulse to set up your campaign by clicking here.
To begin, go to your Pulse dashboard and click on the 'Campaign Watch' on the left sidebar. From here, you can see all your campaigns by type.
To set up a new campaign, simply click 'Create Campaign' above the table of campaigns.
In the 'New Campaign' window, you'll be asked to select the store you're setting the campaign up for, enter a campaign type (Discount, Merchandising, Event etc) and enter a campaign name. Next, you will have to choose the start and end dates for the campaign (but don't worry - you can always change these later).
Once you're happy with the information you have enter, click 'Save'. Your campaign is now created, but doesn't have any products yet.
There are two ways to add products to your campaign:

Search: Simply search for a keyword eg chocolate, product name or barcode ID in the search bar and tick the products you want to add before clicking 'Add'.

File Upload: Upload a .txt or .csv file with a single list of barcodes in a single column with the word "barcode" as the column header (there's a downloadable template available when you click "Add Products" if you want to use that!)
Once uploaded, you can choose which products you would like to include in the campaign by ticking each box, or you can select all.
Once you have found or uploaded a product you want to add to the campaign, tick the box next to the product and click 'Add Products'. Once you have added all the products you want to include in your Campaign (and don't worry, you can always add more if you forgot a few!), press 'Save'.
Once you press save, you will be in the label integration section. This is where you enable Spotlight and enter the message.
Here you can toggle the 'Enable Spotlight' button to "on" and add your chosen Spotlight message in the text field. You can then choose whether the Spotlight message appears on top, left or right of the label, or select a template from the dropdown. When you're happy, click 'Save'.
Your campaign is now live! The messaging will appear on the labels shortly. You can make changes at any point by navigating to 'Campaigns' from the main Pulse menu. Simply click into any of your campaigns to see how the products in the campaign are performing. By the following morning, you'll be able to see if your Spotlight messaging has had a positive impact on your sales!
